Kaapse Kombi Kult

We had our first meeting of the KKK..........Kaapse Kombi Kult.....(Cape Kombi Cult) We wanted to call ourselves the KOC..............Kombi owners club, but that was boring. We had a great meet and had a turn out of about 11 busses. Nice turn out.

Francois is also a Big VW fan and has some projects that he is currently busy with, he is building a amazing beetle and spent +- R 80 000 (+-£6500)on the beetle when I met him. I believe he needed to some cash and then sold Pinocchio (my Bus’s name) to me.
How long have you owned the bus: +-1 year
What are you plans with the bus: Keep it original; try to fix the little bit of cancer (rust) on the bus.

Closing notes
Anyone know anything about this plate on the base of the carb? It's factory original by the way.

Willems 1967 2.0 16V turbo bus water-cooled motor.  Willem had to cut into the floor of the bus to install the radiators and all the necessary hardware. We suspect that this bus has originally come from the Military.
Marius_1.jpg (48018 bytes)Marius_2.jpg (39252 bytes) This bus is owned by a friend of mine Marius, I've known him for a while and it was his brother Morné who helped me pick up my crew cab one night out in the sticks. This bus started out a nasty peach colour that no-one really cared for, so Marius quickly slapped on some purple, that makes it look WAY cooler. The paint is only temp until he decides what he wants to do with the bus.
starland _1.jpg (43058 bytes)starland _2.jpg (45062 bytes) Not much on this baby I'm afraid. I was already late for work, So I was running around the bus taking pictures. Saw it standing outside my local V Dub shop. Nice solid looking bus that is used as a band bus, this must be the coolest band equipment lugger arounder that I've ever seen. The bands name was something like starland vocal band...lol. Actually it was something or other creek mountain band.
ambulance.jpg (48629 bytes) ambulance1.jpg (61699 bytes) I couldn't track the owner down on this one. This thing is WICKED. The specs that I do have on it are pretty sketchy, but I only really noticed that it's an ambulance when I saw the cab divider. When I stepped around to the back, I saw the door and I saw the light. This thing is super smooth, and sports a set of Jetta VR6, BBS rims and a few other goodies, the colours are WILD and these pics, really don't do this bus any justice.
dirk.jpg (48937 bytes) dirk1.jpg (58745 bytes) This Is Dirks Bus, it's a 1975 15 window Fleetline. This baby has come a far way since I first saw it. The bus came basically complete, but totally stripped, no windows, motor or gearbox. Dirk got the bus from non runner to a runner in about 2 months!
fugly.jpg (62667 bytes) fugly1.jpg (64151 bytes) Well another 15 window has shown itself and unfortunately the previous owner of this once Orange and white two tone Fleetline bus didn't really look after the bus. I spoke with the new owner and hopefully we'll be able to help him with a cab divider as well as a few parts that he needs to spruce it up. The rust on this thing was quite bad, but nothing that couldn't be fixed.
