This is the 53 standard. It is what most people would call a parts car. It has some serious rust. The frame rails need patching in several areas, obviously rocker and nose work and of course those wheel wells can't stay like that, unless I wanna fit in if I drive it to Arizona. This is my project Hot Rod bus. Plans to run Rader wheels, lowered, big engine and just do the metal repairs and leave it in epoxy primer. Hopefully this will all come together within a few months. I bought this bus because I'm the only one who will save it and it had some hard to find parts that I needed for the 54. It's been for sale here in Florida for many years but the price is just not worth the trouble to most. I forgot to mention, the 54 I picked up in Washington state. Its been passed around a lot ,nothing ever done to it. The 55 was from a VW mechanic in Idaho, I bought that and drove it home while I was travelling the country last summer after I sold my 53 deluxe.

54resto 003.jpg (29983 bytes) This is my 54 I got in 2000. It needs a lot of help. nose clip (someone did a poor job of putting a repop clip on) rockers , some floor work. but its not toast like the 53 you will see, then think I'm crazy!. This 54 is my planned full restoration mostly N.O.S. parts as I can find. I plan to keep this one so I intend to do it all perfect. I have most of the parts now, so now I just need to find a little time to dig into it. This is the only photo I have so far.

This was my 55 daily driver. Its been a good bus. Since August of 2000, I travelled the country in it and to this day I have put 11000 miles on it, all using the 36hp. I have made plenty of angry friends on the highways of the USA. enjoy
