Later UK Samba's!

1976_ONV381P.jpg (71144 bytes) 1976, yes 76, this bus was built in Brazil hence the age, production still continued in South America after it finished in Germany, the majority of the panel  presses etc. were shipped over to brazil towards the end of the 70's. The overall look of these vehicles is similar however if you take a closeser look  you will notice quit a few differences. The vw  badge is embossed in to the front panel, the loading doors are more comparable with the barn door equivalent, I also seem to remember  it having all early running gear, and if you look closely you can see the early pull handles on the front doors, odd don't you think on a late bus. I read an article on these vehicles and it seems that when they were in production they used what ever they could to complete a van! It would appear that the trend has repeated it's self as they are still producing bay window type II's! This pic was taken at Bug Freeze in 1996. (Checkout [your buses] for more info - Rich)
