1967 13 window deluxe owned
by Alastair Fordham, nice original bus, details to follow.
|
 |
I bought the bus in 1996 off John Aaron
and the bus was in need of TLC as it had been hit on drivers side front
panel and you couldn't open the drivers door. Year by year I've become
more fussy with it as I just intended to drive it in its tatty state at first. As
you can tell I've lowered it front and rear, ball joint front beam that
will be narrowed soon, IRS rear which was done 4years ago,5 lug
sprintstars to be fitted for BVF, US SPEC bumpers with trim and a type 4
motor to fit this winter. It has safari front screens and six pop outs
with long arm catches, headlights now have mesh stone guards fitted, there
is still a ton of work to do and cant wait to take it to the next show.

RPK 255F - 1967 RHD deluxe, owned by me!
oh man this bus was fun, looks a bit leery now but back in 1989/90 it was
rocking. I drove this bus 10,000 miles around Europe that year! The
front beam was cut and turned, the back end leveled up, the motor was
stock (1500 cc), modified over sized tail pipe through the rear bumper!
Micro dots on the rear lenses, 195 45 x 15's (shack your teeth out)
Yokohama tyres up front, 205's on the rear, enough safari's and pop outs
to re-mortgage your house!! and the craziest interior around. I sold the
bus in 1993 to a guy from Bournemouth, he drove it for a while apparently
but, I have not seen it since. However some one told me that it is now
being restored, fantastic, I'd love to see it again! Picture taken at Bug
Jam 1993. Oh yeah did I mention the sound system? |

1967 LHD American import deluxe, Picture

 |
UGT 289F - 1967 RHD deluxe, owned (at the
time) by a guy called Max, this bus was on the scene big time in the early
90's and was a corker! Check the sliding loading door. This bus was
running a hot 1776 motor and I remember him giving it death, everywhere!
also every time he turned up to a vw show with it it would be lower than
the last time I saw it, crazy guy! |
 |
SLW 410F - 1967 RHD deluxe. This picture
was taken at Bug Jam in 1993, I seem to remember the guy saying that he
was do a rolling restoration, I remember the welding being awesome! Not
sure who owns it now but, I still think it's around. Check out the
passenger mirror arm, nice! |
 |
1967 RHD swedish import, used as the
fosters ice promotion vehicle around London in 1997, this vehicle has be
IRS'ed, I believe Andy Mariott owned/or got it sorted initially. The last
time I saw it was when it was for sale in loot, I went to have a look but
it was over priced and beginning to deteriorate, (shame). |
