Lee Griffiths 1957 deluxe, Looking at
this bus you would not think Lee has done to much to it, but don't be
fooled, he's done loads! A nice and subtle resto so far Lee, and it's a
daily driver, cool. |

1957 RHD deluxe, what a corker! Owned by
Gordon Crabb. This bus is mad, it was
once a Kombi! the interior is interesting, all the panels are covered in a
material that looks like slipper material, so much so that the owner
had a pair of his and hers (slippers that is) made up to sit in the
luggage area for shows, I know, I'm confused as well! wicked bus though.

Gordon has been in touch to update us about his bus:-
My bus is looking vastly different now with all chrome popouts and chrome
safari's, and rather than chestnut brown on top its now black, running a
1641 with a 1303s box and a tall 4th for the motorway, Willwood front calipers
and Neal front discs, All this work was done about 3 months ago but I just
haven't been around to do any showing yet!, Total VW have been on to me a
couple of times about featuring it but I was hoping to give it to Max
Hydraulics' first for a lick of air. so I'll get a new photo to you as
soon as I can. |

DYP 724 - 1957 RHD deluxe,
This bus has been around for about 2/3 seasons, and has been
restored really well. I have a funny feeling that this guy purchased the
roof from my 61 deluxe wrecker and grafted it on to what was a camper,
anyway the out come is sensational! This bus is crying out for some early
ribbed bumpers in lower body colour and a chrome front badge, but hey,
everyone to there own. Check out the real white wall tyres, beauty rims
and chrome hubcaps on stock wheels, what a stunning combination.

SPG 619 -1957 RHD deluxe, what a
beauty! This bus is so complete and untouched, which is very unusual
for a bus of this age. Photo taken at Stoner Park, can't understand why it
wasn't in the club (SSVC) line up. Check out the original long reach
aerial, don't see to many of them theses days. I do hope the owner looses
those front indicators and reverts back to the stylee trafficators on the
side on the van just behind the driver. This bus was sold a while back,
not sure who to. |
